The most awaited tablet computer from Microsoft released, The Surface. We can discuss what is special in it in this post. The main feature of Microsoft surface is the OS is Windows 8. I think the releasing of Microsoft surface is late because there is already a huge competition in the tablet field for last five years. But the Microsoft surface is one and only tablet 'may kills' the iPad.
The Microsoft surface is released in Los Angeles, milk studio by the Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. But he is nothing discussed about the price and marketing of the tablet. Steve only specify that the tablet is running on Windows 8. I am sure that the Microsoft surface will shake the "surface" of iPad.
The Microsoft surface had a build in stand and keyboard so it is more similar to a laptop than a tablet. The launching of the Microsoft surface was very secret till the last moment. To know more about it we can go through the words of Steve Ballmer. He introduced the tablet as the member of the Microsoft family. He also said that the "Microsoft surface is only 'starting point ' for Microsoft and the real stars will come soon"
Next we can discuss about price tag on the tablet. In the keynote speech Steve said something about the pricing that
"Microsoft Surface with Windows RT will be available in both 32 GB and 64 GB model and will be priced like comparable tablets that are based on ARM.
Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Professional will come in 64 GB and 128 GB storage models and will have a retail price comparable with competitive Ultrabook class PCs."
Now we can assume the rate of Microsoft surface. The iPad cost 500$. The Samsung galaxy tab and other Acer tablet cost near 400$.So we can say that Microsoft Surface with Windows RT may cost between 400-500$.
The Ultrabooks in the market is also cost 800-1000$ of famous brands like Dell and Samsung. So the Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Professional may cos near to 1000$
Now we can compare Surface and iPad
